Isn’t it time to Let Go of the Past?
What to expect during Let Go of the Past:
As a new year approaches, many of us set intentions or make resolutions for the upcoming year. We cross our fingers and hope against hope that this year we’ll be able to see them through to fruition. And although we have the best of intentions to manifest those goals and dreams, we often have ties to the past that are holding us back. We may know those ties exist because we frequently replay the memories in our heads, and experience their emotions in our hearts. Sometimes it’s the all too familiar negative self-talk (chatter that’s been with us forever, it seems!) that thwarts our plans. We’re very aware of it, but unable to silence it.
Often, however, we’re unaware that it’s our past that is making it difficult to move into the future we are picturing for ourselves. We’re trying to take a step forward when we still have a foot rooted in the past. If you have one foot planted firmly in the present, and one foot stuck in the past, what foot do you use to move yourself forward?
In this guided meditation, we’ll ask the Divine to assist us in freeing ourselves from the past. Whether it’s outdated beliefs, old wounds, someone else’s messages that we bought into, or something else, we’ll surrender to the wisdom of Spirit. We’ll let those Divine vibrations free us from the lower vibrations of the past that are no longer serving us. After the meditation:
Once the guided meditation is complete, you’ll have time to process in whatever way you determine is best. When guided by Spirit, we’ll move into a group Reiki session that will take the healing you received during the meditation to an even deeper level. As Native American spirits speak to your soul with a personal and intimate message, the vibrations of drums, rattles and singing bowls will enhance the healing power of the Reiki energies. The Creator, your angels and guides may offer valuable direction and insight to assist you with leaving the past behind as you take the next step into a brighter future. Keep a notebook or journal nearby to record your insights. Come prepared to let Spirit work in the way Spirit knows best.
Before you begin the session, you might want to prepare your space so it feels safe and comfortable. Turn off your cell phone and make sure you will not be interrupted during the session so you can have the deepest, most personal experience possible. Have a blanket and some water and perhaps a few tissues nearby.
